Shopping for high fashion on a budget

Although bargain shopping isn't exactly considered chic, I've found some amazing deals at places in the city. I find that as long as you keep some simple ground rules, you can still remain relevant. My simple rules are:

  • Nothing over three months old no matter the price
  • Keep the same look of whatever I'm doing

To find these deals I typically go to a few different small boutiques (and even "thrift" shops on the east side) but my favorite store is probably Loehmann's for discount clothing. They always have a lot of great buys from mid-level designers like Calvin Klein, and even better ones from Prada, Versace, and Marc Jacobs. Plus, their selection is great, especially if you know what you want.

I'll try to post any updates I find here of new deals and be the bargain oriented blogger I like to read.

You mention that "bargain shopping isn't exactly considered chic". You may be right. But it certainly is CLEVER. Working in the fashion industry, we can understand how designer brands have signifcant markup on th eprice simply for the brand name. Finding the brands and styles you like (and at a discount) is clever in my book... Thanks for keeping us posted on bargains that you find. I personally look forward to it.. Actually, their is a Loehmann's not too far from me. Your post reminds me that I should check out the latest inventory...
