Well, last week was predictably a very busy one. There were shows all over town (New York City), and the cabs were kept active carting buyers and Designers around in 20 degree weather.
The Project show, way downtown @ 7 world trade center, was a visual Wonder by all accounts. The Views were Spectacular, and the products shown Generally lived up to the hype. Four floors of where Premium direction is going. Lot's of good new vendors, all out looking to make a name, and get there companies rolling to success. They were buzzing with people, and talk about the next big direction in Fashion. It is an Alive and Exciting place of young and aggressive talent, which will keep forcing us all to move forward in our thinking.
Collective and Blue, continued to show there Niche, in Men's clothing and sportswear. They are catering to a "better" market, that is predominantly In the specialty store business, and looking out for the department store buyer that may pass their booth. Nothing jumping off the wall @ the Collective to say "I'm New", and give you something to think about. This season was rather predictable with the vendors who are showing here.
Blue was much more directional, catering to a more upscale, young and Casual look, and they carried it off very well. Long, and narrow, with booths on both sides. There presentations on low wide boxes in the center of the walk way, showed "best of" for each booth. They got their message out and seemed active through out the show.
All in all, a busy week that also included many piece goods shows that drew designers ready to start Spring 09. The wheel keeps turning.
