New York, New York., November 30, 2007 - In its new ad campaign Coskel University pokes fun at the seemingly "serious” side of fashion and highlights the importance of everyday people and Culture. In the new ads the brand merges Machiyo Kodaira’s illustrations with Brenda Staudenmaier incredible Photo’s and the quirky phrase “I AM IMPORTANT” being uttered by everyday people. The message seems to be WE ARE ALL IMPORTANT. This is different from any other brand, “what fashion brand pokes fun at fashion” lamented David Pollack (Public Relations head at Coskel University) but in a way it speaks volumes of the 2 designers that head up CU These guys think differently it’s always art, culture, design and attention to detail first.
The print ads are set to be posted in and around NYC, Tokyo and Trinidad & Tobago during the holiday and Carnival season. TV commercials featuring legendary Calypsonians, Winston Bailey (Shadow), Robert Nelson (Lord Nelson), Leroy Calliste, (Black Stalin) and Weston Rawlins (Cro Cro) should start airing on MTV Tempo soon.
