It has been awhile since I was working Hollywood getting my hands dirty doing fun art projects... So I was thrilled to be invited to do an art piece for the Evisu Cube project. Each artist is given a small 3-D space and some Evisu fabric to make an art project with. The show will be open November 9th with an auction of the artwork in order to benefit a Chinese charity. Similar events were done in Hong Kong and London and hope the Shanghai event goes off just as well.
I will post some photos of the event when I get them. My piece is called "Mafanopolis". For all of you non Chinese speakers, Ma Fan is Chinese for trouble or hassle. I did the piece to convey my awe and frustration with living in Shanghai. It's also the first Chinese slang word I learned.
