Stella McCartney has risen grown from Beatle baby to a British Institution in her own right. For many A list celebrities, Stella's designs are the first choice for their red carpet jaunuts.   1.  She cares about the environment

Stella McCartney has long been recognised as a champion of all things environmental. She has helped aid causes across the globe in the fight against waste, pollution and deforestation. Her own clothing label is very conscious of using no toxins in materials and aims to create more sustainable designs.

  1. She was awarded the OBE

The British Empire proudly recognised Stella McCartney’s achievements and excellence within the fashion industry. In 2012 she was awarded the OBE. Who knows how the British Empire will reward her in the future for her amazing environmental work. Dane Stella perhaps?

  1. She raises money for charity

Stella uses her excellent fashion skills to give back. The famous Beatle Red Nose Day campaign was exclusively designed by Stella. In 2003, she designed a lingerie collection for Breast Cancer Awareness month. Her work in this vital field led The Women's Cancer Research Fund to award her the ‘Woman of Courage’ accolade.

  1. She invented ‘Meat Free Monday’

Along with her famous family Stella started the Meat Free Monday campaign. This non-profit organisation aims to raise awareness about the impact eating meat has on the environment.  It promotes a healthier way to live and eases you into vegetarianism gradually. The point is that if everyone had at least one meat free day a week, meat production would be far more sustainable.

The Beatles were all working class heroes. They had to work hard to get to the top. Paul and his late wife Linda both instilled this in their daughter. Stella went to a state school and had to work her way up in the fashion industry. Her hard work paid off as her designs are some of the most sought after in the world.

  1. The band name ‘Wings’ was inspired by Stella

In 1970,  the Beatles were breaking up and Linda McCartney was heavily pregnant with Stella. Thinking about the pure miracle of life, Paul came up with the heavenly name ‘Wings’ as he thought about what an angel his future child may be. Ahh sweet.

  1. Her clothes are inspired by her dad

A lot of Stella’s designs are directly inspired by her father. The Beatles were one of the most fashionable bands of all time and their sixties styles have rubbed off onto Stella's award winning designs. Paul used to surround himself with music’s elite, such as David Bowie. These kind of stars also directly gave Stella invaluable inspiration.
