Holidays are a time to relax, escape from the 9-5 routine and explore exotic lands. When packing for any trip, we often make two big mistakes when it comes to our holiday wardrobe; 1. Packing too much and 2. Not packing the right things. We all want to look and feel great on our adventures but are restricted by little suitcase room, unusual temperatures and adventurous activities. For example, many Brit’s have an everyday wardrobe which is ready for the rainy days and aren’t prepared for the heat and sun most holiday destinations offer. By taking in some style tips before you jet off, you can ensure your suitcase is packed with the right clothing, so you don’t have to spend a fortune on a brand new wardrobe which isn’t fit for the holiday season.

Create a Holiday Capsule Wardrobe

The fashion world has recently developed a great interest capsule wardrobes, and anyone who has successfully created a capsule wardrobe will know why. From saving money to saving time, once you have a small assortment of clothes which all compliment one another, the outfit possibilities are endless without being overwhelming. Many people have created an entire wardrobe from as little as 30 outfits with a possible 512 outfit combinations to choose from! For the holidays this is ideal as you have little suitcase room and a lot of packing to do already. Get the base layers sorted first such as a basic tee, shorts, trousers and shoes then add in stylish extras for special occasions.

Make Time to Prepare

As with any holiday preparations, ensuring you have time to prepare your holiday outfits is key to creating a must have holiday wardrobe. Make time for yourself by organising your holiday essentials as early as possible, and ensuring you have your holiday capsule wardrobe at the ready. By driving to the airport instead of relying on public transport you can ensure your time management doesn’t go awry if there are any delays. Sometimes parking can be tricky both practically and financially but by booking your airport parking online you can secure a hassle free, convenient journey without overspending. Get packed, arrange your parking and jet off in no time!

Don’t Forget to Accessorise

Once you have your capsule wardrobe sorted, make sure to pack the little extras to complete your look. You can dress up or dress down any outfit with jewellery whether it’s a simple charm bracelet and silver earrings, or a bold gold necklace with quality hoops. Accessorising also counts for the cosmetics, with bold eyeliner for the nights out and subtle shadow for a day at the beach. Another advantage to the accessories is that they of course take up little room and don’t weight much but can have such as big impact on the look of your outfit.

Rock a Comfy Outfit with Confidence

Holidays are a time to relax and enjoy yourself, so finding a comfy outfit to wear every day is essential. This doesn’t mean however that you can’t still look your best when rockin’ your favourite shorts, comfy shoes and basic tee. When it comes to looking great it’s all about the confidence (as cliché as it sounds, it’s true!) and by embracing your style, whether it be girly pink or Rockstar punk, you will stand out for all the right reasons. Another great influencer of how confidence we feel is often our skin and hair. Get some moisturiser so your skin feels glowing, pop on some holiday makeup if you fancy and create a cute yet practical hairstyle such as a messy holiday bun to feel hotter than the sand beneath your toes!

Taking just a bit of time to prepare your style choice before travelling can prove very beneficial during your holiday, especially if you are away for week or more. By creating a capsule wardrobe from just a few comfy clothes which can create a number of outfits, you don’t just save time and money but also the hassle of taking unsuitable clothes with you and wasting valuable storage space. We book a holiday to relax and enjoy ourselves but if we don’t feel confident in what we are wearing, it can greatly restrict how much we enjoy ourselves whether it be a swimsuit we feel self-conscious in or a high maintenance outfit not fit for adventurous activities. Don’t put a dampener on your holiday by not giving your clothing choices enough attention and enjoy your holiday with style tips that come in handy for every trip.
