Extra cash or not, you can have the look of the rich and famous. By copying what you seek, you attract powerful people and the power of suggestion could put you on the path to true wealth.

Looking rich involves a few simple changes and being aware of how you come across. Four accessories immediately give you a rich and famous persona —handbag, watch, jewelry, and glasses.

Designer Bags

Women, lead with the bag and follow with the watch. The most popular bags are leather, big enough to carry everything, and lux.

Famous bags include the Chanel Quilted bag, and Louis Vuitton’s Soft Lockit Bag. This is not the coated, typically brown bag, covered in LVs popular in the ‘80s. Copy other designer bags such as Prada, Dior, and Victoria Beckham. Follow the same shape, body size and style of handles. At the top of the heap, are the Hermes Birkin, and the coveted and scarce Hermes Kelly bag. Real versions and replicas of these bags can be found at resale sources.

A Flashy Watch

A high-end watch is the unrivaled symbol of wealth. The luxurious group starts with Rolex, Tag Heuer, Piaget, Cartier, Hermes, Omega, and Jaeger-LeCoultre.

Styles can be a tank watch; a metal, smaller-scale than Rolex; leather-strapped and some with diamonds, especially on the face. Luckily these watches are easily copied with ‘the look of’ and manufactured by many reputable brands.

A rich looking option for women is a man’s style bracelet or leather strap watch with a big face. Finish it off with a stack of matching or compatible looking bracelets. Men look rich in metal preppy styles, leather-strapped high-end face shapes, and stainless-steel bracelets that complement their dress, body style, and proportions.

Rings and Other Jewelry

The rich and famous are two different breeds. The rich wear smaller, conservative jewelry. Think country club. They’re not much into huge rings, except engagement rings. Otherwise, their jewelry is real, tasteful in size, and very expensive.

The rich and famous engagement rings can be obtained with man-made and lab-grown stones. A rule of thumb, however, is that the metal be real. Other rings you can sport are narrow, stacked gold rings. Even wedding rings are showing up as narrow and stacked with various stones on just a couple of the rings.

The most seen bracelet among the rich and famous is the Cartier Love Bracelet, also popular for men. To get the look, wear a square edged, narrow bracelet with or without a small design. Other jewelry coveted by the famous includes Hermes enameled pieces and Cartier including vintage Cartier. Copies of enameled pieces are easy to find, but you have to be very careful with Cartier copies. Make sure they look believable.

The most popular necklace right now is the Van Cleef & Arpels’ Alhambra. This is a thin chain with small cloverleaf-like shaped disks. The disks are typically enamel rimmed in gold. They either have a hanging disk, or stations along the chain. These are easily copied and easily found as pre-owned. To get the look, wear a thin chain with small stations, or with a hanging disk-like charm.

Glasses

Popular prescription glasses among the rich and famous are often horn-rimmed glasses worn by the likes of Jonny Depp. Bill Gates goes with the small, square-framed look. Steve Jobs wore sleek Lunor glasses.

As for sunglasses, men have the historical Wayfarer and square Wayfarer, round retro-inspired glasses, and the very cool No-Lita.

Other unisex options includes tortoiseshell and horn-rimmed, D-Frame, and heavy brow line. Women can also go with the Jackie Onassis style or a large rounded-off cat-eye.

Whatever accessory you go with, don’t look like you’re trying too hard. Wear believable copies or the real thing, don’t waste your money on a lot of junk. For lower prices on the real things check out resale sources, consignment shops, and Etsy.
