In fact, it is impossible to live a life in a first world country without wearing at least a pair of jeans. Whatever their initial purpose was, these freakishly comfortable pants have conquered the world and are here to stay. However, recent Oscar proved that women often choose white and gold over black and blue (pun intended), i.e. they slip into jeans to meet friends and do some shopping, but hardly ever to go to a job interview or walk the red carpet.

The injustice is only made stronger by the fact that plenty of employers and school administrations consider jeans to be something more of a working clothes type.

Why does it happen? Why can’t we see that a nice pair of jeans is just as stunning as a cocktail dress? Here are a few reasons why women should reconsider and accept the brilliance of jeans even if their employers are unwilling to drop their reservations.

(Note that what I am talking about here is jeans that suit and fit you well).

1. Better silhouette. Amazingly, these dark-blue pants make your legs look slimmer and curvier at the same time. Even if we are talking about loose ones that don’t squeeze your body parts. And what suits a woman better than a nice body? Probably, nothing. Especially, if your alternative is an ankle-long dress that will cover everything from shoulders to heels. Your entire silhouette will radiate sexiness and confidence.

2.  Versatility. It’s unbelievable how easily a neutral pair of blue jeans can fit into any style. Want to come out as a rocker girl? Put on a leather jacket and cowboy boots with a nice hat. Need something more formal? Slip into loafers and a white casual shirt. Going to the theatre? It is time to wear your stiletto heels and a silk blouse. Whatever the occasion, jeans will serve you well.

3. Combining the incompatible. Imagine putting on a lace and black leather at the same time. Looks horrible, doesn’t it? Still, in a pair of jeans it is possible to combine even those things without looking vulgar and simply tasteless. Buttons, ribbons, holes and sparkly things – all of these are OK to be used on jeans.

And, of course, jeans are simply comfortable. In the epoch when people have to be everywhere and at the same time, feeling fine wearing certain clothes means a lot. Probably it is time to forget the prejudice and accept that a pair of jeans is not a rude violation of dress code, but rather an attempt to make your life more convenient. And at the end of the day, isn’t it what it’s all about?
