Recieved a news letter today from Steve Madden (shoe company). After clicking on the image on the newsletter it brought me to the shoe above. The description of the shoe; basket weave wedge comes in this seasons hottest hues and is perfect for any warm weather outfit. I guess the question I have is should clothing retailers and shoe stores do a better job targeting their audience. For example, I happen to live on the East Coast of the…

Well, last week was predictably a very busy one. There were shows all over town (New York City), and the cabs were kept active carting buyers and Designers around in 20 degree weather.
The Project show, way downtown @ 7 world trade center, was a visual Wonder by all accounts. The Views were Spectacular, and the products shown Generally lived up to the hype. Four floors of where Premium direction is going. Lot's of good new vendors,…Continue

Atonement has been nominated by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' 80th Annual Academy Awards® for the category of best motion picture of the year. In my opinion, this particular image from the film captures the simple elegance of the time. The film is set in the 1930's and captures suttle beauty in a full one piece bathing suit... Anyway, I could not resist posting the image. See ladies, you can look smashing without…Continue

The Academy Awards are around the corner. As we can all understand, the awards are primarily about movie stars and Hollywood... However, the event also has a great deal to do with Fashion and Stylists. Obviously, the first question to most stars as they walk the red carpet is "what designer are you wearing?"
Anyway, I decided to put together a section to help us all keep better track of what is going on with the Oscars. Actually, I have so far created two…Continue

Is this eye liner properly applied?
Looks good to me? Maybe a bit dark for some, but she obviously can pull it off.
Eyeliner can make even the smallest eyes appear larger. When applied to already delicious eyes, the liner works wonders. Applying it correctly is key, you don't want the line to be too dark, harsh and obvious or you risk looking overstated.

Well, this is an image of Evangeline Lily (Kate) stuck in a cell and caught in the rain. Yes, her hair is a mess, but does she look bad??? Well, don't tell my wife, but I do not think Evangelines can ever have a bad hair day...

This weekend, I have been rather busy working on a new fashion website. The new one is designed specifically for presenting current news regarding clothing stores (fashion retailers online and offline). The site will contain news about fashion boutiques, departments stores etc. Currently, I have it set up mostly for the larger fashion retailers. However, I hope to have more stores listed in the future. The new site is called Clothing Store…Continue

Russell Athletic is a very large apparel company... I am curious about why their website currently indicates "New Site Coming January 2008" (by the way, today is January 7th). In my opinion, a company of this size should transition between sites a bit faster. They certainly could have managed to keep their old site in place until the new site was complete, tested, and ready to go. I am not sure how long…Continue

In my opinion, this year will be a critical one for fashion designers, fashion boutiques, and all other apparel relevant companies. IF the consumer is truly slowing as the stock market may have signaled again today, shouldn't we be on high alert?
If retail sales are slow, will clothing store buyers have a slower turn of merchandise...
If the turn is slower, won't that slow the rate of purchasing new…
