- About Me ...
- My love for fashion and beautiful clothing spans almost 4 decades. I can remember as a child getting my mother to buy me copies of Esquire Magazine so I could look at the clothing. I started apprentice tailoring at the age of 10 with an African gentleman who trained in England. I had a newspaper route and delivered his newspaper and would stand there and watch him as he made these exquisite hand tailored men's suits. I one day got the nerve to ask him to "show" me how to sew. I think that he thought, that, if I let him "mess around" and see how difficult it was, I would get frustrated and that would be that...well here I am 40 years later ...I left the industry for almost 10 years however, and recently returned to NYC to work in the industry again. It's funny however, that even when I was out of the "industry" my passion for beautiful clothing still had me tailoring and creating clothing just for the love of it. Are there any beautiful clothes any more??? So I came back because that is my passion ...not money or fame, or even to create some trend...I just want to create beautiful clothes again. I have been lucky enough since my return to work on some very beautiful collections, some on short term freelance and some creating the patterns or the designs for the entire collection.

- Roderick - thank you for your reply and your understanding of my concern. Certainly, I am happy for you to promote your fashion relevant business. However, I do not want this network to become a place where hosting companies come to try and obtain business. I fully agree that a web presence is very important to fashion companies, but the purpose of this site is to promote business such as pattern makers, fashion illustrators, clothing factories, and similar services. It is also for fashion designers, etc. to meet each other and talk about trends, fabrics, garments etc. Thank you again for your understanding.
