Fashion is a big industry but at the end of the day it's all about marketing so this group is dedicated to this aspect of the industry. For example, we can all learn from sharing about the successes we may have had working online or with e-marketing.
The Fashion Events group is for people that are interested in promoting their fashion events or interested in finding events to attend. You are welcome to discuss formal fashion week events, or a simple after work party (fashionable parties only..)See More

Topshop? I LOVE Topshop. They are so on top of trends, but not too expensive. That would be a fabulous job! Those assignments don't sound too helpful! I know that my school is a lot of hands on experience, with fashion shows, competitions,…

About Me ...
I'm a 21 year old student in my second year at the University of Huddersfield, studying Fashion, Media and Promotion. It's a sandwich course and I'm very much looking forward to my placement year in the Summer of 2010.
I also work in a bar part time, and recently received my personal license, so hopefully I may be able to apply this to the fashion industry for an event, etc.
My dreams are to work in marketing for a high street store.
Fashion Industry Experience
Within my first year of the course, I studied the history of fashion, fashion culture, public relations and journalism, marketing and print media and promotion.
Favorite Fashion Designer or Fashion Brand
Elie Saab, Valentino
Age
Over 18
What is hot in fashion this year?
The mornings are becomeing increasingly chilly, and a lot of the high street are selling trench coats for a much cheaper price than Burberry. River Island are also selling knee high woolen socks, which look great over jeggings with some classic brown boots. River Island only have 3 different colours of the socks, (beige, dark grey and black), but they all look fantastic and they definitely keep my feet warm during cold lectures.

Topshop? I LOVE Topshop. They are so on top of trends, but not too expensive. That would be a fabulous job! Those assignments don't sound too helpful! I know that my school is a lot of hands on experience, with fashion shows, competitions, having to do window displays, etc. lol Now I know not to move there! In Florida it's hard pressed to find magazine internships, most publications are based out of NY and Cali. But I'm doing all of mine online. I want to be a fashion editor/writer/stylist. lol I know a lot! So I intern where I can to gain experience and connections. I really love putting outfits and clothing together for layouts. So that's what I hope to do. My dream is to have my own magazine one day, but it will probably be online. Toronto is expensive! Good luck with finding the placement, we have to do an internship like in our last quarter.
I design jeans, shirts and hoodies right now. I'm just getting My Clothing Line started and will probably branch off into shoes and belts. I'm in the U.S.
The site is definitely good for networking! I am a fashion writer in the industry. All of the positions are internships though =). Here is a link to some of my work: http://www.sanjosefashionweek.com/revarriel2alexandermcqueen.shtml
I'm just getting my start in the fashion world. Right now I am student as well, in a community college for business. I finish my semester in December, then I am going to Miami International University of Art and Design. At the school I am at now it's just general education courses. When I transfer I'll be focusing on the fashion aspect. I can't wait! It's a lot of experience gaining. Really it's hard??? What do you want to do in the industry?
