- I'm a 37 yrs old Freelance Designer. I always been into Fashion. Thanks to my mom, I did the hairstyling things for so many years. Now, I'm trying a different Avenue and I'm loving it. Fashion is my Passion. I learned how to sew at the age of 9 yrs. old, started with designing my Barbie doll clothes. In school I stood out, cause I dressed different from everyone else. I'm working on my own clothing line. My line Vera Monae represent the strength, the struggle, and the survival of Women's that been thru Domestic Abuse. My family have a long history of Domestic Abuse, so I want speak thru my clothing line. I decide to use my aunt Vera first name that we lost from Domestic Abuse and my sister middle name Monae that survived from Domestic Abuse. I want my line to say Something, reach out to all Women struggling with Domestic Abuse. Vera Monae Collection say's no too Domestic Abuse.
