Fashion Industry Experience
My experience in the fashion industry is always positive. I bring a positive energy into every endeavor. I formed Shaya Design Inc. in 2005 and in that year I put together fashion week at riverbank park. The week was filled with overseas government officials because I had the top five designers from Africa to showcase their designs and at that time the designers signed a contract with my company to represent all five lines.
My line was lauched in 2006 by Chevrolet in Harlem NY. The show was a great success and moved my company to the next level. Chevrolet was pleased to sell cars on a Sunday!
In 2007 I presented the first All African American designer showcase titled "De Mode" held at Gotham Hall in NYC. Spectators enjoyed a champagne reception with finger foods for their delight. Media was 6 press risers high. For pictures and more info visit www.myspace.comshayasdesignfashiongroup
In 2008 I presented Fashion week's first "Fashion by the Sea" With WBLS as sponsor we kicked of fashion week in Far Rockaway Queens with Dr. Boblee as host and the ocean as our background.
Black Spectrum provided our stage and the set was packed with fashion spectators.
