About Me ...

Shannon Renee is a professionally trained makeup artist and "LOVE OF BEAUTY IS TASTE. THE CREATION OF BEAUTY IS ART" Ralph Waldo Emerson

I love the power of color. With the stroke of a brush, add in a dash of talent and skill, you can enhance, uncover, transform and even create beauty.

As the saying goes, "You should do what you love!" My love of cosmetics and skincare, aka "beauty junkie," caused me to study both disciplines professionally. My experience and training has allowed me to freelance in fashion, film/tv, and in retail.

My background has included freelancing for Smashbox Studios, Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, Macy Gray, Charter Media and my most inspiring, was volunteering as a makeup artist for the Anne Douglas Center -"Day of Beauty," at the Los Angeles Mission. "Day of Beauty," is a day that pampers homeless women who have completed their twelve month rehabilitation program at the Anne Douglas Center and on their graduation day, they are pampered with free hairstyling, manicures, and makeovers.

As a makeup artist, the change I wish to see, and be a part of is that GLOBAL BEAUTY is truly embraced in my lifetime!!
Too often ethnic women and men are IGNORED or INADEQUATELY represented in the beauty industry. This absence lends itself to many not knowing how to paint the canvas sitting before them! A TRUE ARTIST CAN PAINT ANY COMPLEXION. THE MODEL SHOULD WEAR THE MAKEUP NOT THE MAKEUP WEARING THE MODEL.

In addition to my artistry, I am a published writer and former Beauty Editor for Iona Magazine, I wrote various skincare articles and introduced new products through Editor's picks that informed women on how to be a savvy consumer when it comes to meeting their beauty needs.

I am looking to network with models, photographers, hair and wardrobe stylists to expand my own portfolio and whose work I can feature on my website www.theafter-glow.com.

I am available for PAID ASSIGNMENTS FOR PRINT/FILM/TV. I will consider TFP, TFCD, and CREDIT ONLY assignments depending on the project.
