New York City, the established leader and mecca for discount merchandise and bargains, is the shopping destination for people from all over the world. The terms discount merchandise and bargains take on a whole new meaning when it comes to fashion sample sales. Sample sale shopping is a way of life for most New Yorkers in the know. (How else do you think they can afford to dress so stylishly and well? ) The most amazing bargains are uncovered at sample sales just ask any New York fashionista. Designer clothes at prices anyone can afford.
What is a Sample Sale? A Sample Sale is a special event making designer clothes directly from the designer available to you at prices, which are at wholesale and even below wholesale. These spectacular clearance events quite often take place in the designer’s own showroom. The prices at these clearance events are far better than what you would find in an outlet store. Outlet store pricing is typically 20 or 30% off the retail price, discounting that just can’t compare with the pricing at sample sale events.
Today the term “Sample Sale” is really a misnomer. They are usually rather Sample & Stock Sales. The origin of the label “sample” sales dates back to a time when sales were truly limited to samples, (clothing limited in size to sizes 4 or 6.) These samples are fabricated each market to be shown to the buyers from all of the major department and specialty stores.
At the end of each season designers are left with excess merchandise due to overages, cancellations, returns and samples, all of which must be cleared out to make space for the next season’s lines.
Thanks to these overages, cancellations and returns practically anyone can find their size with sizes typically ranging from 2 to 12. Sample sales are not just for models anymore.
For spring and summer apparel the sample sale season is usually from March through June and for fall and winter merchandise from September through December.

We promise to bring you only the real deal. Our mission is to inform you of not only true sample & stock sales, but those that are the hottest in town.
