- About Me ...
- I'm an artist, been painting for years and would love to learn more about textiles as a medium. I've been taking private lessons in weaving and currently working on a project. I've also taught myself to knit. I've up until recently been working in the museum field and been a student in Applied Museum Studies. For two summers I've worked in the Mississippi Valley Textile Museum in Almonte, Ontario where I was the Collections Management Assistant. I fell in love with the history of the region, which was rich in fabrics and techniques from the pioneer times during the 1800's. From unique ivory silk and lace wedding dresses to log cabin quilts, I've learned a lot so far about the "make" and I'm so intrigued and eager to learn more.
I'm currently a student enrolling in Esthetics.

- As I was working at the Mississippi Valley Textile Museum in Almonte, Ontario, my role was the Collections Management Assistant. I made minor repairs to antique clothing and quilts, packed and stored clothing to museum standards.
I weave and knit as a hobby.

- What is hot in fashion this year?
- I think that fashion lovers ( I may just be speaking for myself) will gravitate towards clothing that is ultimately modern and unique, but also visually organic. Something that's soft on the eyes and compliments a woman's shape...and can be worn any day again and again. Haider Ackermann's Fall 2010 collection is absolutely beautiful, unique and offers everything that I mentioned above. I love his work too
