About Me ...
HBO documentary Schmatta: "Rags To Riches To Rags
( I am in this documentary)

I have worked in the fashion industry for years.
Vreeland's optimism.
Kate Moss' style barometer.
JKO's taste
and my own "eye"
Highly creative & passionate about fashion.
Fashion Industry Experience
Extensive. Have been in this industry forever.
Favorite Fashion Designer or Fashion Brand
I love fashion and see beauty and art in every single garment. I personally like clean lines and subtle femininity and the clothes in my closet reflect this. If I were to pick a favourite designer:Zac Posen( showcasing his amazing skill at very intricate construction)Matthew Williamson for his artistic meld of colour and pattern, so feminine.Alexander McQueen ( will be forever missed. a beautiful soul who could cut a dress flawlessly from a bolt of fabric, no pattern needed.)and Rodarte ( for their hodge-podge materials that become a sweater or dress). It's very difficult to name just a few. I admire colour, line, textures. Anything that makes me dream and smile is a favourite! Alexander McQueen, Matthew Williamson, Zac Posen, Rodarte, Marc/Vuitton, Ghesquiere/Balenciaga.

What is hot in fashion this year?
HBO: SCHMATTA: RAGS TO RICHES TO RAGS.
a documentary about the fashion industry and how things have changed in Manhattan ; specifically how the garment district has shrunken in size, as more companies go out of business and production moves off shore.

WHAT SHOULD BE HOT IN FASHION THIS YEAR?
that the global economic situation drastically improves.
with the recession deepening, there will have to be adjustments on every level in the industry globally.
brands will reassess their marketing strategies.
the consumer will continue to look for quality and price point alignment.
designers will become more cautious.
for retail sector, buyers will edit very carefully.

yes, fashion is creative and beautiful and fun.
but at every level of fashion from your luxury houses to the discount mass markets, one thing holds true ~ moving the merchandise.

i want to see that global brand, that one designer who will align price point and quality clothing to turn things around again.

WHAT IS HOT IN FASHION THIS YEAR?

What has happened is a shift in the silhouette.
clothing has gotten narrower to the body.
add heel height and you've a tall, lean look.

a simplified look will be returning.
the excess and embellishments will be done away with.
with a return to simplicity, a more classic look will make a strong comeback to fashion.
handbags will have more structure.
cartoonish shoes will vanish.
this will tie into new marketing approaches of apparel having a timeless appeal, rather than the 'throw-away chic' which has been prevalent in fashion for too long.

This is such a fresh streamlined look.

Borrowing very heavily from the 1960's:

starting with the Sassoon bob, continuing to the  mini shift, and those strappy mary jane heels.

Notice the absence of any…
