About Me ...: I grew up on a farm in Kansas. I've studied fine arts oil painting and also more than 20 years of classical piano. Love collecting insects to study for color and patterns and like taking hikes in nature.

Fashion Industry Experience: Earned a B.F.A in Fashion Design from The Illinois Institute of Art - Chicago
Worked for Spiegel Catalog Co. for a little more than a year as a Technical Illustrator (the went bankrupt and relocated to NY).
Worked as an artist/ designer for Grass Orchids - a Chicago based company.
Began teaching textile design courses at The Illinois Institute of Art - Chicago for a year and then transferred to the Art Institute of California - San Diego to continue teaching full-time in Fashion Illustration, Fashion History, Knits, Wovens, Photoshop and Illustrator, Portfolio, and U4ia - textile design program.
This is my current position as of Fall 2008.

What is hot in fashion this year?: Faux patent leather looking leggings paired w/ a heavier silhouette on top (chunky knit sweater or sweater dress).
