Larisa Katz
Born and raised in the former Soviet Union in 1974 , but now living in the southern part of the Netherlands, Larisa Katz has always been passionate about art and the wonders of the world as she sees it.
Formerly a painter , the now designer took her portraiture skills to human form , utilizing the same ideas to produce visceral, sculptural dresses in style of haute couture.
In her work she uses fabrics to build dresses that look like sculptures. Playing with different materials and shapes she creates timeless and romantic designs. She combines the visions of Eastern and Western cultures.
In the past 2 years Larisa has shown her designs at runways of Amsterdam, Dubai , Bahrain ,NYC , London,Berlin ,Paris & Cannes

I was reading your profile and saw your collection on the video and wow, very beautiful and impressive work. I think you said it best with, " Larisa doesn?t mean to implicate it as sexy, or feminine, but merely to emphasize the silhouettes, the fading of the boundaries of perception." I really see and feel that in your pieces.
You mention in you're profile that you were inspired for this collection from the world under the sea and it powerfully shows. I'm an avid scuba diver and a lot of your pieces spark imagery of sea life I've encountered. You've captured it so well I'm left wondering if you yourself are a diver as well.
By the way I'm a production guy here so if ever a time comes when you need a solid contact for producing your collections I am more than happy to assist.
