About Me ...
I'm a native New Yorker..and have lived in Hells Kitchen for longer then I care to say! I love my work and I currently have my own line...Lara Kazan Designs which takes up much of my time...but my family and friends come first! I love to design and consult and hope to branch out and freelance for other design houses

July 2010-Present Renee’s Accessories New York, NY
Designer for Private label and Collection
• Design her collection of contemporary knit and woven accessories, including cold weather knits, leather gloves, capes, light weight woven scarves, beach hats as well as straw and woven bags.
• Design for private label accounts from contemporary/junior chains to large retail discounters.
• Developed tech packs as well as design woven and print patterns for scarves
• Communicate with private label accounts and with over 20 manufacturers overseas
• Prepared line sheets and presentation boards for meetings with store accounts and showroom sales
• Sourced Chinese and Italian yarns. Approved lab dips.
2000-2009 Lara Kazan Designs, L.L.C., New York, NY
President/Designer for High-end line of women’s knitwear (sweaters/accessories)
• Designed and introduced “Lara Legs”, a new concept in leg-wear, whose success kicked off the knit wear line of Lara Kazan Designs. In 6 years LKD went from selling one style, grossing under $20K to a full collection of knit sweaters/accessories grossing over $600 k.
• Designed all collections including sweaters, knit dresses, soft knit accessories and leather belts.
Developed tech packs and layouts for all styles.
• Managed overseas manufacturing from samples through production.
• Prepared line sheets and presentation boards for meetings with store accounts and showroom sales staff.
• Sourced Chinese and Italian yarns. Sourced trim market both locally and abroad. Approved lab dips.
• Oversaw merchandising and sales for 5 markets in both NY and LA and participated in all Intermezzo and Coterie tradeshows.
• Produced photo shoots and designed layouts for look books, postcards and website.
• Supervised staff (1 full time, 2 freelance employees, plus interns) on designing, sales, customer service, and bookkeeping.

• Fully responsible for designing Junior and Girls (4-6x and 7-14) sportswear line (of woven’s and cut & sew knits).
• Prepared line sheets and presentation boards.
• Sourced trim and fabric market, and approved strike offs and lab dips
• Developed screen prints and embroidery designs.
• Participated in the girls and junior fittings and speced garments.
