- I'm currently a senior at the University of Central Florida majoring in Event Management. I have always had a passion for fashion and I would like to tie that into my career. Fashion Event Planning is what I desire to do and I won't stop until I get there! Recently, I have taken an interest in PR and I have actually had some experience in it without realizing it! I am a hard worker and an eager learner, and while my event courses have taught me a lot and prepared me I still have a lot to learn through hands-on experience. Whatever I don't know I can learn quickly! Creativity is one of my best assets. I'm always thinking of new things to do and unique ways of doing it! Thinking "outside the box" is no problem for me. Although my major ties into the hospitality industry I am a people-oriented person by nature! I love meeting new people and I am definitely a team player!!
If everyone was doing what their passion is the world would be filled with happier people!!! Fashion is my passion and that's why I know I will succeed and will enjoy doing it!!!

- Bold colors are definitely the current trend!! For the spring especially I've noticed sundress long and short are in style; the long cardigans are still a hot item even with the warmer weather; even with hair the trend is the shorter the better with bobs and shoulder length hair cuts; women are also going with bold bangs(including myself!); metallics are also coming back in style; wedges seem to be making their way back into fashion for the summer-I know Steve Madden has some really cute wedges that are cork on the bottom and have a leather-ruffle affect going on on the top of the shoe!! Oh and every women has to have a pair of skinny jeans although sometimes I like to wear my wide legged jeans. I'm not a big fan of white pants but some nice cotton white slacks are nice for the spring. These are just a few! I can go on and on!!
I think at this point in fashion history it's the best time to be bold and try just about anything.......with some moderation!!!

- Kia - thank you for your comments in the Fashionista Fashion Week group. That is great that you find interest in this idea. In all honesty, my biggest problem is "time". As we all are, I am busy with a thousand different things at once. Actually, an even bigger problem is that I personally have zero experience with fashion events. Hopefully students (like you) and professional event managers will take an interest and want to take a leadership role in organizing such an event. Anyway, if it progresses to more then just a "thought", I will post more news in the group... If you have suggestions, just let me know.
