D-Day

Today is June 6th, the day of days, a.k.a D-Day, the 1944 Allied invasion of Northern France at Normandy. Being a novice historian and fashion observer, it had me thinking about all of the refernces to military uniforms we are seeing in today's trends. About Me ...: I am a Parson's student currently studying fashion marketing with a great interest in fashion as a whole. During the day I work for a P&C Insurance company in the CFO's office where I've learned various accounting and business methods that I hope will help me in my new career in the fashion industry. I'm planning to enter the industry in the near future and am interested in marketing, blogging, PR, styling and design. Being an idea person, I am well suited for this industry because I can bring fresh perspective to the job.

Fashion Industry Experience: While I don't have any professional fashion experience per se, I've been sketching designs since I could write and have been studying and analyzing trends via travel experiences, magazines and the internet for over two decades.

What is hot in fashion this year?: Buy some lace up shoes or boots, off the shoulder tops, pants, kitten heel shoes and anything vintage Chanel. Think 1989 chain belts and necklaces and gold buttons.
In the next two seasons cuffs and cuff links will be hot along with trends from the early 90's, like velvet collared jackets with gold buttons. Classic is coming back! Or did it ever really go away?
