Do you work in the fashion industry?
I work in fashion
About Me
I am a young frustrated fashion body who is creatively bursting with ideas but has took time off to travel and is now ready to prostitute herself after 3 months of being on tour with electro band Digitalism.
I have also began by blog so I can share all my experiences and ideas with the world. Please check out my blog.
I am surrounded by the arts and i get inspiration from everything to being on a 66 bus, my weekly garbage, people, friends to a couture Dior dress.
Fashion Industry Experience
I am currently living in Germany and are continuing to seek work in the fashion industry.
I have worked in the industry for 10 years. I have worked as a stylist for 3 years and from then I worked for London based fashion label PPQ. I worked on production developing and sampling working closely with the designer and also with factories and mills all over the world. I have many contacts in the industry from factories, press to a wide range of celebrities that i have worked with in the past.
I have recently took time out of the industry to go on tour and document my time with electro duo Digitalism. I have been to Brazil, Australia, New Zeland, Korea and all over Europe taking many pictures of the festivals, culture people and of course fashion.
I have a real interest in the connection between music and fashion and documenting both together has always helped me to open my creativity to new heights.
What is your favorite fashion website? (list the WEBSITE address)

What is hot in fashion this year?
For me its all about the Trailer Park with a twist of class, early Maddona and Dolly Parton.
Rompers, denim, studs, denim waist coats, fringing on t shirt dresses, big bow ties in the hair. Thick eye brows, short short short dresses and skirts, ankle boots with buckles, cowboy trailer trash style. Mix denim and leather!
Pastel colors are key.
Look for mum in the 80s for more inspiration!
Follow your own style and let it grow more than you.

Why choose us
To become a stylist or start your own styling business can be difficult without any prior knowledge, experience or training. Our courses are tailored to give you indepth and practical information in a short time frame so you can get on your way to becoming a personal stylist as soon as possible
This is NOT a correspondence course – you will receive face-to-face training and hands-on practical experience with a MAXIMUM OF 10 students ONLY to ensure that you each receive focus and individual attention from Shirley.
The course is run by internationally reknowned UK stylist Shirley Lane from The Image Academy in a partnership with Smitten With Style – the stylists that other stylists learn from. Nothing beats experience so learn only from the very best.
The course content covers the theory that every stylist will use on a daily basis, made up of 70 different topics and answers every question you may be faced with in the real world.
Topics include getting started, colour analysis, body analysis, makeup, corporate image, working in TV and magazines to starting your own business and getting your first client.
While all participants will receive copies of the course notes to keep, we don’t believe in giving you a book with theory to teach yourself, our tutors are there to help you every step of the way and answer any questions you may have.
About Shirley Lane and The Image Academy
Shirley Lane is a leading personal stylist & certified make-up artist in Ireland who has worked in fashion and design for the past 9 years, and runs The Image Academy. In recent years, Shirley joined Europe’s number one Celebrity Stylist Natalie Svikle and launched The Image Academy, a training school for aspiring Personal and Fashion Stylists. It provides fashion forward styling courses that have been set up specifically to offer a new level of professionalism and expertise to wannabe stylists, PR professionals, boutique owners, high street retailers, fashion students and just about anyone who has a passion for fashion. The course structures have been designed with the modern day stylist in mind, addressing all the exciting changes within the industry combined with a hands-on practical approach of how to succeed.

The courses have been hugely successful in the UK, US and Ireland to date and now it’s time for Shirley to share her secrets with Australia!

You will not find a better value course with such a high calibre tutor as Shirley! Enquire now by email or call 0423 042 418.

To book: Registrations are taken by Smitten With Style while course fee is payable direct to Image Academy via credit card. A deposit of $500 is due on registration with the balance due 7 days before course commencement.

"After completing 3 courses in London, which I feel were a total waste of time and money, I was very down about my future and what I had done as I felt the courses offered buckets of theory which were of no relevance to a modern day stylist and no practise so I had no idea where to go from there until a colleague mentioned The Image Academy.....The content covered exactly what I was looking for in assisting me to start up my own personal styling business. The days out in the shops mixed with the "start your own business section" allowed me to take the steps I required to build my business and I have never looked back. Shirley's enthusiasm for the industry mixed with her experience is invaluable to anyone starting out".
