To celebrate the launch of The Image Academy in Australia, we are offering for a limited time only, our 5 day face-to-face Personal Styling course for just $850!!
This rate is only available for the month of October. Normal prices resume after October so book now!
Smitten With Style together with The Image Academy bring you an intensive training course to equip you with the skills and knowledge to become a personal stylist!

This course is suitable for those:

Individuals who are looking to start a personal styling and personal shopping business
Anyone who wants to enter the world of editorial and fashion styling and work as a magazine or TV stylist
Retail staff who wish to equip themselves with styling skills to set themselves apart from their colleagues and/or become better retail consultants / store managers
Individuals who want a fun and interesting hobby career in personal styling!
Why choose us
To become a stylist or start your own styling business can be difficult without any prior knowledge, experience or training. Our courses are tailored to give you indepth and practical information in a short time frame so you can get on your way to becoming a personal stylist as soon as possible
This is NOT a correspondence course – you will receive face-to-face training and hands-on practical experience with a MAXIMUM OF 10 students ONLY to ensure that you each receive focus and individual attention from Shirley.
The course is run by internationally reknowned UK stylist Shirley Lane from The Image Academy in a partnership with Smitten With Style – the stylists that other stylists learn from. Nothing beats experience so learn only from the very best.
The course content covers the theory that every stylist will use on a daily basis, made up of 70 different topics and answers every question you may be faced with in the real world.
Topics include getting started, colour analysis, body analysis, makeup, corporate image, working in TV and magazines to starting your own business and getting your first client.
While all participants will receive copies of the course notes to keep, we don’t believe in giving you a book with theory to teach yourself, our tutors are there to help you every step of the way and answer any questions you may have.
About Shirley Lane and The Image Academy
Shirley Lane is a leading personal stylist & certified make-up artist in Ireland who has worked in fashion and design for the past 9 years, and runs The Image Academy. Shirley Lane not only works with individuals but also gives regular style tips on TV shows worldwide. Shirley is a member of the AICI (Association of Image Consultants International).

In recent years, Shirley joined Europe’s number one Celebrity Stylist Natalie Svikle and launched The Image Academy, a training school for aspiring Personal and Fashion Stylists. It provides fashion forward styling courses that have been set up specifically to offer a new level of professionalism and expertise to wannabe stylists, PR professionals, boutique owners, high street retailers, fashion students and just about anyone who has a passion for fashion. The course structures have been designed with the modern day stylist in mind, addressing all the exciting changes within the industry combined with a hands-on practical approach of how to succeed.

The courses have been hugely successful in the UK, US and Ireland to date and now it’s time for Shirley to share her secrets with Australia!

Dates: Five-day course, 9am – 5pm daily.

Friday 16 October - Tuesday 20 October 2009 OR
Thursday 22 October - Monday 26 October 2009

Harbour Rocks Hotel, Harrington Street, The Rocks, Sydney, Australia.

Course fee: For October only the fee has been reduced from $3000 to $850 per student!!! Unfortunately, this offer is only available for the 2 course dates specified, normal prices will resume after these places have been filled so book early to avoid disappointment.

You will not find a better value course with such a high calibre tutor as Shirley! Enquire now by email or call 0423 042 418.

To book: Registrations are taken by Smitten With Style while course fee is payable direct to Image Academy via credit card. A deposit of $500 is due on registration with the balance due 7 days before course commencement.

"After completing 3 courses in London, which I feel were a total waste of time and money, I was very down about my future and what I had done as I felt the courses offered buckets of theory which were of no relevance to a modern day stylist and no practise so I had no idea where to go from there until a colleague mentioned The Image Academy.....The content covered exactly what I was looking for in assisting me to start up my own personal styling business. The days out in the shops mixed with the "start your own business section" allowed me to take the steps I required to build my business and I have never looked back. Shirley's enthusiasm for the industry mixed with her experience is invaluable to anyone starting out".
