About Me ...

I am in my last year of the Fashion Design program at the Illinois Institute of Art in Chicago. After obtaining my bachelors degree I am thinking about going to grad school for my MFA. I design women's wear and my philsophy as a designer is to create clothing that is vintage inspired, unconventional, and dramatic. I love fashion and I take it very seriously; not only as a means of business but as an art form.

Fashion Industry Experience

A dress I designed using recycled materials was on display in the Magnificent Mile Gardens exhibit this past summer of 2008.

I am lucky to have such fantastic professors at school who really know the fashion industry well; I consider this Industry experience because there are a lot of things I have learned from them over the past four years that you could never get out of a textbook (like their shared personal experiences for one) I certainly will use the rest of my career.

What is hot in fashion this year?

* Colorful tights and leggings with interesting prints/ lace tights
* A lot of designers concepts for spring seem to be influenced by the theatrical. My favorite runways clips from spring were those that looked like wearable costumes.
