About Me ...: My name is Gunjan Kumar. I am a Fashion Accessory Designer. I have won Young’s Best Footwear designer award in “LINEAPELLE “Italy, 2007. And I got selected as a National Accessory Designer, from ministry of textile (INDIA). "Design is a way of looking at and improving the world around us" It is my personal goal to do just this with a career in design. I really enjoy the process and I keep this interest even when I got my design job. My work includes professional research and trend forecasting. I abandoned my dream after a short stint in the industry following college. It was in the "real" world of design that I painfully learned that it was not always glitz and glam, but oftentimes, just plain old hard work and perseverance. Still driven by my passion, I decided to try something on a smaller scale. I thought, "Handbags and Footwear’s are hot! They are always in style and an accessory that most women cannot live without." These creations gain me many positive feedbacks and encouragement from friends which push me to keep going further. I am constantly trying to create new and innovative bags, update and change things to make them better. This is a learning process that will never get old.

Fashion Industry Experience: Working as a Fashion Accessory designer in Creative Art of Souls (CAOS), Pondicherry from August, 2009 to till date. Currently pursuing Post Graduate Diploma in Retail Management from Symbiosis Center of Distance Learning, Pune. A Graduate of Fashion and lifestyle accessory Design from National Institute of Fashion Technology, Chennai, govt. of India (Year 2008).
(1) Footwear design collection (2 weeks project) for India International Leather Fair (IILF) 2007. (2) Craft documentation on the crafts of Assam (4 weeks project). (3) Cluster documentation (2 weeks project) on the craft of ‘Uru’, a traditional craft of making miniature, ships and vessels, from Kozhikode, Kerala, India, 2006. (4) 8 Weeks Internship Project in Bachi Shoes India pvt .Ltd, Ranipet. (5) 3 Months Summer Training in Tata International Limited, Chennai. (6) 15 Days Project of New Surface Development for Brand Diesel. (7) 1 Week Project of Bag Designing and Development for Soul Quest Lifestyle pvt.Ltd.Mumbai. (8) 10 Days Project of New Surface Development for Brand Fun & Basics. (9) 10 Days Project of New Surface Development for Brand Penny black. (10) 10 Days Project of New Logo Development for Brand Ripcurl. (11) Product designing for a brand called RAFAEL (TATA New Brand).
(12) 2 Months Project for Product designing for Deco De Trend, Chennai.
(13) Product design and development for brand Baya, for his Fashion show in Pondicherry.

ABOUT FASHION TREND ( AUTUMN WINTER 2010/2011)

It’s time to retire the bright colors and bell-bottoms; fall winter(2010/2011) is all about warm hues, fabulous textures and glamorous accents.
Glamorous vintage-inspired looks are also hot this season. Cashmere sweaters, sparkling brooches and pretty, flowing, knee-length skirts can be a fabulous addition to any fall wardrobe. Real and faux fur is showing up on boots, hats, bags and coats epitomizing the luxurious tone of the season. The waist is also back in style so it’s time to embrace the belt. Stock up on belts in all sizes and colors because these accessories can pull any fall outfit together. The idea this season is to accentuate the waistline so wear your belts around your waist over fitted sweaters and blazers for an ultra-chic look. The bottom line is that fall is all about femininity and class so stay away from baggy, frumpy, faded favorites and invest in some glamorous goodies.
