On Friday, I went to a Bassnectar show in Miami at the Fillmore. Bassnectar is one of my favorite DJ's and he absolutely killed it on Friday. The point of this forum is about the fashions I saw at the show. I feel that going to an event such as a concert or show, gives you more of an opportunity to wear what you want and express yourself. Anyone have any good memories from shows/concerts and fashions to share? to see more pictures from the show, you can go to my facebook…See More

whats up if you're reading this! This site is sick, and I am glad to be a member. My name is Gabrielle, call me Gab for short =] I go to the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale and I am one year away from receiving a Bachelors Degree in Fashion Merchandising Business. thats a lot to say in one breath. I really want to start meeting more people that can conceptualize ideas and share thoughts with when it comes to anything relating fashion and the arts. I couldn't imagine life without music, fashion, and traveling.
Fashion Industry Experience
I have worked in retail starting at the age of 15 where I worked at TJ Maxx as a sales representative, a cashier, and a fitting room manager. After that I worked at American Eagle Outfitters at two separate locations throughout a year. One location in New Jersey where I lived, and then transfered to a store in South Carolina for a summer. At the store in both locations I ran fitting room, the floor, register area, and also helped with store layouts and Visual Merchandising setups late at night. At this time I had been only 17 years old. After working about 3 years in retail from 15 to 17, I started working at restaraunts to make more money for school. Now, in my second year of college I have a lot of experience working with people in the fashion culture.
I have assisted a number of photo shoots with a photog friend of mine, Valerie Petralia. You can visit her blog at valeriepetralia.blogspot.com
We do various shoots and sometimes we shoot looks of mine and conceptualize an idea for a shoot randomly one day and come out with amazing looking photos. I have had a lot of Fashion Styling experience from the past two years in college with fashion shows and shoots as well.
I am currently a full time student, and a full time server looking to find a company in South Florida where I can start my fashion career!

I feel that nature inspired looks are in the spotlight, along with prints like flowers and animal prints. Then there is always the fashions that are more basic and plain and simple. For me, I can never tell what is hottest thing to wear, you kind of just gather a bunch of different emotions or "styles" together and wear them to make you feel happy and like your true self.
