- I am the CEO of the Trend Forecasting online service www.mpdclick.com and the owner of Mudpie Ltd.
As a Creative Director and CEO I am a forecaster of fashion, lifestyle and business trends and one of the largest creative employers in Europe. Mudpie is considered the UK's leading forecasting organisation that now operates in over 50 countries.
As CEO of Mudpie Ltd (founded in 1992) I contribute to fashion and lifestyle trends in newspapers, magazines and educational publications. My commentary has appeared in the London Evening Standard and the New York Times. I am also a regular speaker at conferences and exhibitions around the world, providing globally respected trend insights to the creative industries.
Mudpie has become a pioneer in establishing collaborations and initiatives throughout the industry and has led the field in knowledge sharing and establishing community networks.
I believe visionary analysis is at its most powerful when is grounded in the practical- trends need to translate into commercial reality for the creative brand.
Developing trends demands looking at human behaviour, art, architecture, street culture and consumer statistics. It is by analysing and combining these components of research that my team and I are able to produce accurate colour directions over 24 months ahead of a selling season and provide styling and graphic trends at least 18 months in advance.
Years of travelling to Asia to work with suppliers taught me that a future trend has to be one that can ultimately end up a best seller within the retail environment.
Fashion influences so many of our purchasing choices – cars, phones, food packaging, everything should be viewed as a fashion product. A crucial element of our success is appreciating this connection and combining it with an understanding of the commercial product development processes of our clients. Mudpie is not just a trend publisher but is a creative partner for businesses.
