I would like to work in fashion
About Me ...
I am a highly motivated and dedicated individual trying to get my foot in the door within the fashion PR field. My background consists of a Bachelors of Arts degree in Sociology add three years working for the Canadian government in Ottawa as an Event coordinator and project manager. Currently I am working for a Canadian publication working within the field of fashion but doesn't fully encompass it. While it is allowing me to gain wonderful private and industry experience I am currently looking for more substantial industry experience to further grow and develop for a successful future. I am very determined to get into the industry and have even thought of going back to school if that would mean I could get a better start in the industry.
Fashion Industry Experience
I currently work/intern for a Canadian publication called Spade focused on modern living while promoting national and international talent within the fashion, arts and design industry. My experience with Spade has granted me the experience in editing and writing press releases and articles and communicating with various outside stakeholders within the fashion industry. I have also had the pleasure to work closely with our stylist for the magazine on many photo shoots assisting and styling them for our editorial pieces. In addition I have performed many PR and communication functions acting and coordinating various events for promotional or sponsorship purposes. Along with my involvement with Spade magazine I have always maintained retail positions to help me understand and learn about products and excellent customer service. Such experience include positions at BCBG and Holt Renfrew Co.

Some hot spring trends include Arabian or Marrakech styles seen at Ralph Lauren doing slouchy and relaxed looks with silk, satin dresses in metallic, bronze and white inspired by the South African sahara.
Futuristic themes are seen on the runways at Balenciaga while geometric patterns are all the rage at Gucci and McQueen.
Purple was the hot color in 08 but in 09 sherberty pastels to hot bright colors like orange and blues coupled with nudes.
Lots of bangles and long necklaces help accessorize the mini dresses that Hever Leger does so well. Jumpsuits are another strong trend popping up in 09.
During the economic recession, 09 is bringing an understated classic and great quality. Clutches from Yves Saint Laurent's bow bag or Lanvin's woven ribbon and beaded clutches to beautiful shoulder chain bags are just to good to pass up.
