- Artist Statement:
Art has always been a passion for me. From my earliest memories of picking up my first box of colored pencils, I started drawing and coloring away at whatever came to mind. At this time, I primarily focus on creating abstract paintings with acrylics. I've been designing artwork for going on five years and I’m very thankful for this gift, which God has given me. My fascination with art is expressed through vivid colors and abstract configurations. I art find as a great source of expressing positive energy and a way to manifest thoughts without words.
My artwork expresses rhythm, a highly textured framework, symmetrical and asymmetrical designs. I attempt to incorporate vibrant colors and abstract configurations throughout all my pieces, in order to stimulate the mind. In addition, my artwork is constructed to reflect the abstract nature of the imagination. Many people ponder the following question. Should realism be perceived as the derivative of abstraction or vice versa? Is there is any proof to see how abstraction may be the true origin of realism? The unity between these two elements is defined, however closely connected in so many ways. The focal part of abstract art to me is characterized by contrast, depth, appreciation and a non-verbal message which is then interpreted by the viewer.
In order to maintain the highest quality, I perform all the creative aspects seen throughout my works. Each piece is created and protected with superior materials, in order to enhance the natural color of the subject matter. As far as the medium of my artwork, I tend to use extra-heavy chipboard and studio/professional grade canvas. All materials used are acid and lignin-free. Protective sealers are applied as well to protect them from natural elements. Every piece is an original and is mounted and matted only using acid-free museum board. All the work listed above is performed without any assistance.
