Where do you live? (country or state)
Do you work in the fashion industry?
I work in fashion
Fashion is incredibly fascinating to me. I love textiles, silhouettes.....a great "look": that is "yours" .... accessories accessories accessories......there is so much to be said for quality and cut and it is NOT necessarily linked to any label.....
i love hearing the story behind my designers, i love to know i have something that i am not going to run into....i love to know that i am paying for a product of worth, not for a label that has done an incredible marketing job....marketing is supposed to help initiate desire among a clientele NOT be the ONLY asset of any brand......I LOVE CLOTHES.....i lovelove fusing different styles, i love that i am told i "pull them off"...i love big earrings.....i love jeans and wife-beaters....i love cashmere and chiffon....i hat too tight head to tow, or showing too much skin....i love audrey hepburne....i love women who can exude their femininity through their mannerisms and composure; something that shines through whether in a dress, in a tracksuit, or in the nude .... i love "less is more" and every once in a while, i love to "overdue it"....I think men look best in jeans and a tweed blazer.... i think a woman with true grace and style looks best in the same ensemble .... As much as I LOVE clothes and I do and as much as it makes me smile to walk into a room with something fresh and new and unique and wonderful, its all in HOW you weat it....to wear it well is to shine from within and to shine from within is more difficult than scoring the one of a kind ANYTHING....
Fashion Industry Experience
Educated in Switzerland at Institut Le Rosey after which she pursued a degree in marketing at George Washington University, Posada began her career at The Altima Group; a boutique Public Relations and Marketing firm specializing in the representation of luxury goods and services. Posada's inherent passion and flair for fashion quickly made her Altima’s unofficial fashion “go-to” until she was promoted to Fashion Director in 2002. As such, Posada led the marketing and sales strategies for Altima's extensive roster of high profile fashion, jewelry, and accessory designers desiring a "presence" among the elite Palm Beach demographic.
Posada's desire to further her experience within the fashion industry led her to accept a position as Key-holder at the soon-to-open THEORY boutique in Aspen, Colorado where she lived for two years. In 2006 Posada was approached by the company where she launched her career, Altima International, to direct its newest project; VENUE, an exclusive fashion lounge and showroom showcasing upscale fashions to a very exclusive clientele. Posada and her co-director handled all aspects of the business including but not limited to researching and securing designers and members, planning events and trunk shows, styling, personal shopping, public relations, marketing, and sales, (retail and wholesale). In just two months VENUE showcased the collections of over 12 designers including Royal & Rolande, House of Berardi, and BLUEMARINE. (press kit available). Though the concept was very well received, the economic climate did not allow this venture to carry itself through the summer months in the very seasonal Palm Beach.
Enter French retail giant Vicomte Arthur. Posada's PR & marketing background together with her retail experience made Alexis the perfect choice for Vicomte Arthur's, soon-to-open pop-up boutique in Nantucket, MA. From March 2009 to September of the same year, Posada worked as Store Manager, Marketing Director, and Brand Ambassador for Vicomte Arthur. Following a very successful summer for the store, the company extended Alexis a permanent position in marketing and sales management, from the company's US headquarters on Worth Avenue in Palm Beach. Posada thoughtfully declined the offer in favor of her long-time-coming relocation to Miami, where she would be close to her family.
In order to subsidize her move to Miami, Posada took advantage of Palm Beach's “season” by leveraging the existing professional relationships she had cultivated within the luxury arena and the personal relationships she maintained with Palm Beach's coveted clientele and acting as liaison betweem the two on a freelance basis, while simultaneously coordinating the logistics of her relocation and exploring career opportunities in the fashion retail industry.
In June 2010, Posada accepted a position at Ralph Lauren Corporation, as Sales Manager for Miami Beach's Club Monaco boutique. Posada's energy, enthusiasm, effective leadership style, and innate selling capabilities made for record-breaking achievements across the board for this high-volume retail establishment.
Posada’s sales approach revolves around “building relationships” (stylist/client & brand/client) through client books, personalized attention, and other customer-centric initiatives. Similarly, her effective approach to “management,” is not to manage, but rather lead and empower employees so as to achieve a positive working environment, increased job satisfaction, inspire creativity, and subsequently, achieve optimum results.
