The theme of these looks are based on the photo styling of the influential Man Ray. Man Ray was an American artist who spent most of his career in Paris, France. Described as a modernist, he was a significant contributor to both the Dada and Surrealist movements; although his ties to each were informal. I wanted to create a visual contrast, between the minimalistic designs and the striking illustrated model. Hues of white,grey,black, with "pops" of crimson red, were used to create a "photographic black and white effect". Soft black lambskin, cool cashmere, and tropical wools were used to create looks that are surrealist, but highly commercial.
