I have started a list of textile design software companies, but I am not sure if I have the best ones listed. It would be great to add more if you have suggestions.

Hi thanks for the list! I would love to get more info on where to start. I have always wanted to design my own fabrics. I love wild prints. I just got Illustrator. Any suggestions for my next software purchase? Thanks, Kristin

Hi Kristin,

As a professional apparel/textile designer, my "Where to Start" suggestion is to enroll at a community college near you that teaches textile design, visual arts and graphic arts/design. In L.A., CA there is Los Angeles Trade Technical College www.lattc.edu. You will learn a wealth of information and hands on skills. Community colleges are very inexpensive and dedicated to technical skill sets. You will also learn various software that will help you decide what is the best for you. Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Artworks etc. are so popular industry standards.
