Hair Stylist Movie : You Don't Mess With The Zohan

OK, I know that I am very late in reacting to this movie, but I have been busy working... Anyway, I have finally had a chance to watch the movie "You Don't Mess With The Zohan". I was curious as to what a professional stylist would think of such a movie.

In summary, Adam Sandler plays an Israeli army counterterrorist that dreams of moving to New York to become a hairdresser. To watch this movie it requires that you have an appreciation for a very particular type of sense of humor. Some will enjoy, and others will hate it. Personally, I laughed and had fun with it...

I have to say that I loved this movie... for more than one reason. I thought that a lot of the humor was just a little too over the top. BUT~~ I was teaching at Paul Mitchell The School in Sherman Oaks while they filmed the interior shots of Paul MItchell and they were all laughing at him. So. this movie, for me is a snapshot in time of my students that I love very much and have since graduated cosmetology school and have gone on to work in salons and in the film and television industry. I was so proud of them and their performance. Adam Sandlers desire to become a hairdresser and the fact that he lied about it to become one is a common theme that I have heard from male hairdressers. They didnt want to be perceived as being gay. Although some of my fav hairdressers are straight men! So... stupid comedy aside. I thought that this movie was great.
