Lets face it, a beautiful sample collection remains just that without orders being placed for it! This group brings together all those who wish to discuss the in’s and out’s of showroom sales and order taking.

I think one of the most important, yet least taught or spoke of area’s in fashion, is sales! Lets face it, a beautiful sample collection remains just that without orders being placed for it!

Department store buyers and boutique buyers all visit showrooms, globally, each season to place orders on collections. The goal of this group is to all help each other.

With little tips and advice as to how to approach buyers in the first instance, their likes & dislikes in being approached, how to obtain appointments and most importantly, how to secure orders.

Little things such as timing, attitude & confidence, Store specific knowledge, your mail out, lookbooks & imagery, exclusivity, the sample collection itself, Terms & Conditions, minimum orders, delivery schedules and point of sale materials can all make the difference between taking an actual order or not.

This group brings together all those who wish discuss the in’s and out’s of showroom sales and order taking. Were all in the same business so lets help one another.

The creation of this group was suggested by Fashion Industry Network member Renato. Please visit his profile to learn more about him and his fashion industry services.

Hi my name is Laura Elison I am 26 years old and I have very recently started up my own business making vintage inspired bags with a modern twist. I am eager to start up publicity for myself to get 'noticed' but finding it rather difficult.
Unlike a lot of accessory companies I do everything myself, pattern cutting, making and buying of fabrics. I have completed a fashion degree so I have the skill to create great products but feel that in this age of mass production many NONE QUALIFIED people are able to bulk buy cheap, plain bags, customize them and sell them for ridiculous prices. I am from the old school of quality over quantity, and being a trend setter rather than a fashion follower. I would love it if you could look at my product on the following link:
please like and share and add me as friend on here
