I recently visited the Abercrombie and Fitch store in London and was awed by the extent they went to launch their brand here. If the museum like building with the double door entrance did not capture your interest, the topless man standing there with a polalorid definitely will entice you to walk through those doors. Once inside, the ambience is set like a night club. Dim lights, a couple of uncomfortable dancers on the balcony, and loud base funky house music definitely makes it feel like you are actually in a club. The staff are all beautiful people styling the A&F line and the set out is pretty impossible to navigate.

I see this as a marketing ploy to launch this brand in the UK and attract people to the store. This works particularly well seeing as the store was quite busy for a weekday. However, having thought about it, the layout, the folded up clothes and the limited lighting makes it particularly difficult to actually shop or have a clear view of the range of clothing they have on offer. The beautiful staff could also be a downside as my friend did comment that she did not feel comfortable and it made her feel that she did not belong to that store eventhough she herself is considered attractive.

Good marketing or bad marketing? still yet to be decided...
