The Fashion Industries Favorite Business Network ...

Wow, I get this question all the time... It is amazing how many people are interested in becoming a famous fashion designer. The problem is that it is very difficult for them to get started. In order to get started selling a product, it is critical to get good quality samples (and at a good price). The tricky part is that in order to get a good price on samples, you need a good relationship with a sample room, or you need to be able to offer them large orders which would allow factories to cut you a break on samples. Anyway, if you live in the USA, you are well served by getting samples made in the USA. It will help you keep control over the situation (USA clothing factories)

If you live outside the USA, I would suggest finding a garment factory in the country in which you work (garment factories around the world)

Also, if you need help with samples you may want to consult with pattern makers or better yet a sample making service.

If you have other suggestions on how start up designers can get samples made, please post your opinion.

We are a cooperative of professional hand knitters ready to knit (or crochet) your samples. We also do small and large production hand knitting. If it can be knit, ghost knitters can knit it.

Hi Patricia,

My name is Jimyna and I am an aspiring fashion designer. I design hi-end women's wear and is ready to put out a collection. I am looking for someone to make patterns and the sample garment. This is high end so attention to detail is crucial!! Also this is a start up business so I am shopping around for the best/reasonable prices right now. My question to you is: Can you work from sketches? How much do you charge? And do you offer any flat rates?
