New Jersey Fashion Week - October 2010 with Susan G. Komen & Lord & Taylor
Donnella Tilery (www.shopdonnella.com) and Mavi Lounge owner, Jack Tabibian are pleased to introduce and host the first inaugural event - New Jersey Fashion Week in October 2010.
New Jersey Fashion Week was founded in March 2010 by Donnella Tilery, a fashion / retail entrepreneur and New Jersey resident.
“There is fashion in New Jersey and a lot of emerging talent” comments, Donnella.
“What better way to celebrate this through a fashionable event at the hottest location in the gardent state?”
The main fashion week “hub” will be the gorgeously decadent hot spot Mavi Lounge (www.mavilounge.com) located in Fairfield, New Jersey –similar to what Bryant Park is to NYC Fashion Week.
A portion of ticket sales will be donated to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization to support the fight against cancer.
Designers will compete in a “project runway” competition for cash & prizes.

About Mavi Lounge:
Mavi Lounge (www.mavilounge.com) is open 7 days a week starting at noon until 1am for lunch, dinner, cocktails and dancing.
New Jersey Fashion Week’s inaugural celebration will be two days this year to warm residents up to having their own annual fashion week event.
One day of fashion and the second day will be a beauty bar event to showcase Lord & Taylor cosmetics and share information about Susan G. Komen upcoming events and local affiliates.
COMPETITION DETAILS:
Donnella & Jack will introduce and MC the “Project Runway” style event --introducing our judges and sponsors.
Day One:
Six (6) New Jersey based designers will premiere their lines to be judged by our sponsors and announced later that evening as our New Jersey Fashion Week “Rising Star of the Runway” winner.
Day Two:
Five (5) New Jersey accessories designers will showcase their line to win “Accessories Rising Star” award at the Beauty Bar /Accessories Showcase with Lord & Taylor.
Judges will give critique to designers during event. Judges will choose final winners that night.
New Jersey Fashion Week VIP Closing Party will be the following evening so designers, buyers, sponsors and press can privately mingle and network.
New Jersey Fashion Week October date will be announced shortly for a Tuesday & Wednesday.

This has actually been done in February 2006. I was actually part of the production team that took over the Robert Treat Hotel in Newark, NJ and brought in about 1200 people for a New Jersey Fashion Week; however, we felt that Fashion Week would not be an appropriate name for an event that did not support the entire week; therefore, it was agreed that it would be called Fashion Expo and in subsequent years, we would create a REAL FASHION WEEK a la Bryant Park.
We've moved on to other projects; however, we have continued producing some of the biggest shows in the NJ area and will now be producing a new show to take place this summer in New Jersey.
It's exciting to see someone trying it again. Hopefully it will work for you. -

Hi, I went on the website http://newjerseyfashionweek.com. I read instructions that allows you to rsvp only to a particualr email address, and not to fill out a application. Is sending an email stating interests to go to n.j fashion week suffice.
