TL, that's a tough one for me as this is not exactly a production question. I'd suggest reaching out to as many people as you can. Not just here in the network but also to anyone you've worked with in the past that may be able to get you in somewhere. Stop by tailors, contractors, knitting mills, dye houses, trim places, everywhere in your sack of business cards to shake hands and drop off your card and info. You never know who may know someone or who may need some work done. A lot of my business comes that way. Hello Alfredo,

I just moved back from New York, where I studied Apparel Management and Design. I have produced a line of 7 looks for a student fashion show and will also be showing at a different show in San Francisco this month. I design women's ready to wear as well as custom evening wear for private clients. I am really looking to start my own label and produce a complete line that I can sell to buyers in LA. Can you please offer me a few words of wisdom as it seems you have extensive experience in manufacturing?

Hi Mayra

Well you've racked up some good behind-the-scenes experience there yourself. Best advice I can give from my manufacturing point of view is to provide yourself with a lot of extra time to overcome challenges that inevitably arise. There needs to be a about a 1-3 month process to get each style from inception to production. 90% of the problems people have stem from rushing things through.

I need to know all the steps of getting your designs made? Where can you find replicable manufacturers who can make your designs? Are there funds out there to help make your designs? Alfredo,

I am ready to manufacture and have a demand for my Product. I am located in Kansas City. I need enough product to go to Market and start manufacturing Larger Quantities when I have the orders in hand. I have 6 Stores lookin at me right now. I have contacted several people and I get no results. I think so many people contact who are just inquiring. I am serious and I need help quick.

I don't have any experience with that aspect of things. We don't design anything here but maybe you could try going to different clothing labels and speaking with designers directly. Although they may not need a designer now they may have some valuable insight for you or maybe even know someone who does need a designer. Good Luck Martel
