Hello All!

Does anyone have passes or tickets to any of NY Fashion Week's shows/parties/events? I am interested in networking during fashion week and it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks Richard, nice to get feedback on what we're doing... Read the PR for the trucker's hat - cute! Love the logo they're using on those products.

Welcome Alan,
Your hats look superb.I'm a Brit myself but live in NY. I just wanted to share this humorous PR announcement about a special "Valentines Trucker Hat"....not really in your league Alan but I hope you get a kick out of it.

Hi everyone,
As a new member I'd like to introduce myself to the group. My partner and I design bespoke hats. Alan White Millinery (with designers Alan White and Barry Moss) pride ourselves in providing the perfect hat for our clients, matching or coordinating with any outfit. We are passionate about our craft and ensure the highest quality materials are used in the creation of our hats, sourcing silk and feathers from the best suppliers in the United Kingdom where we are based. We are interested in connecting with new outlets for our work. We ship worldwide and invite orders of any size - large or small.

We custom make all our hats and produce lines of couture millinery, miniatures and headpieces. In addition we create hats for brides, bridesmaids, Mothers of the Bride, and Mothers of the Groom. We have recently introduced a “ready-to-wear" range of hats available through our website. The “ready-to-wear” range is a selection of hats, blocked to our specification, in contemporary styles which we then hand-finish with fine feathers, silks and sinamay.

Please check out our website at http://www.hats-etc.com to see the full range of our work.

Thanks for your time.
Alan

Hi, I´m new here... I´m 19 and from germany. Sorry for the mistakes in my english. I love to draw and sew. Someday I want to make my own creations, and design clothes. I have write a fashionblog now, if you like to see it http://aygenart.blogspot.com
Could you tell me where to start? Should I try to study fashion design, or could I just learn to draw and sew better and make my stuff, when I got the capital for it? Is it usefull to be good at sewing? Or do I waste my time? and schould learn more about theorethical fashion and design stuff...
I love sewing most. I just take a peace of cloth, without painting on it or using needles I cut it, sew it together and afterwards I wear it and it looks great...
Please tell my how you started with fashion design.

I find fashion very important, it's like declaring who is the alpha person in the situation. If you carry things like Brighton handbags and designer coats, shows that you care about how you look.

Hi Guys

I am writing to introduce nelou.com - a new web community for young fashion designers and their followers.
We are working on a platform to showcase you, the young fashion designers of today who are ready to present their collections to the public. Having realised that young designers don't have a platform through which they can get in touch with consumers, we are currently in the process of building a whole new system which will allow you to directly get in touch with each other.

However, we have launched a global fashion blog on www.nelou.com where people from all over the world tell us and their followers about fashion. We are still recruiting bloggers who are interested in writing about fashion from where they are. Please register on the website as fashion blogger + fashion designer and you are more than welcome to post references to your own blog posts onto our website to increase traffic for your own project. All of those will be posted on our Facebook fan page that has over 750 fans by now. Since this is meant to be a joined project, we would also like to support each other by getting on each others blogroll.

Do check out the website and register to make sure that you are on of the first to use the system and start actually seeling your cloths globally.

Pls see www.nelou.com
http://twitter.com/neloutweets

For more information please contact us via email: contact@nelou.com

We hope to hear from you very soon.

I am casting a wide-net in hopes of connecting with someone who can be of assistance / has the connections I need.
In short, I am now 2 years into the patent application process for a new device that, for the first time since blue-jeans were invented will:
1) Allow the back of the blue-jeans waistband to be higher than the front, finally eliminating the much hated butt-cleavage when I woman kneels or sits down. Not only that but it also:

2) Allows the designer to have a front waistband that can flow in numerous patterns of non-linear / non-straight-line path across the abdomen. This site will not support adding pics of models wearing sample prototype bluejeans - - but their are numerous attractive designs this patent-pending device will support when it is incorporated into the jeans at the manufacturing stage. All I can say is that I took the several pictures of the prototype jeans with 4 different flow-patterns of the front waistband to 3 universities and 2 high-schools and the response was always HOT! AWESOME! Who makes these / where can I order them?

My patent attorney has indicated that the patent application should be through the system this year, so I am starting to ramp up for marketing of the device.
So my challenge. I have zero contacts at major labels like Guess, True Religion, Diesel or 7-for-all-mankind. What I am looking for is an industry insider who has such contacts and the credibility with these companies that if he/she calls them and says "you have got to see this"--they will listen.
Not very often in the fashion industry do you get a chance to launch a truly unique product and one that cannot be copied by the competition for the 20-year lifespan of the patent protection. So if anyone has any ideas or wants to learn more - - then e-mail me at albirtch@sympatico.ca
