In regards to fashion technology we often hear many buzz words such as CAD, PDM, POS, ERP, RFID etc. In this group we can discuss what these things really mean and where to find the best products or services that are relevant to the apparel industry or textile industry.

In addition to discussing apparel software and systems to help clothing companies, we can also discuss innovative garments that utilize technology. Innovative clothing is always an interesting fashion trend...

Also, this group is the perfect place to share ideas on the best pattern making software, embroidery software, PLM Software, e-commerce software etc.

I want to learn more about CAD. I recently brought a book by Kevin Tallon called "Creative Fashion Design with Illustrator". The book has very good tutorials for flat drawing, creating fabric textures, notions and techniques. I wanted to know if anyone here has had any past experience creating flats in Illustrator and if so do you have any advice to offer to a novice just starting out with Illustrator.
