Why are IT jobs so well paid?

I'm not a young human, computers aren't my strongest side and probably they will never be it. But money don't have an age, that's why I want a lot of them even now, in my 50s. Is there something easy that an old man could do with a computer and get paid for it?

If you ask Google than it'll say that IT jobs require a combination of huge amounts of education and are extremely difficult.
