The Fashion Industries Favorite Business Network ...

wardrobe consulting, personal stylist

Hi. I have a background in Fashion Design but since having my two kids I want to start to do some freelance work. I have great style and I love to organize and dress people so I am trying to get a little business started styling and consulting. I have started a blog, got a domain name and Im in the process of designing business cards but I am unsure as to what my title should be. I basically want to organize people closets, tell them what works and what does not work for them, take them shopping for key pieces, style there outfits and even do touch ups to hair and make-up.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Your title should be personal stylist or fashion consultant, I think.

Would you be interested in doing a guest post for my blog? It'd be great exposure for you and a nice link to your blog. I'm thinking along the topic of how to trim down your wardrobe, find clothes to flatter you, or something like that. Or just the process you go through as a stylist when helping people to shop.

I agree with Jess. I think you would be titled a personal stylist or fashion consultant. Possibly, a personal shopper. Another title may be a Fashion Stylist or Wardrobe Stylist. On this fashion network we actually have a group set up for fashion stylists. It is called the fashion stylist group and you can find it by going to the groups section at the top of this page. Actually, we also have a personal shoppers group if you are interested.

If you are interested, you can check out a section I created on Apparel Search for fashion consultants. I would suggest reading up on what others are doing. Possibly you can offer similar services or expand upon what is out their. Good luck with your business.
