Fashion Industry Network

The Fashion Industries Favorite Business Network ...

My last position in fashion ended about 4 years ago and I would like to get back into the industry. I worked more on the production side and would like to expand into the merchandising or marketing side. Any suggestions? Thanks :-).

I think its not too hard for you being into fashion industry once again, for i believe that you have your own style and ideas how to enhance your capability in doing things you love. Being in this industry we should be open to anything that will comes up to us in day by day in our life. Producing our own fashion trends as we go along we can prove to all that the old fashion style we have is still in its peek.

The Image Academy is one of Europe's most rapidly growing image consultancy schools. For this reason, The Image Academy, led by two of Europe’s most enterprising stylists has teamed up with Style Icon Ltd in London who are offering fashion forward styling courses in London, UK from August 2009 onwards.
We provide fashion forward styling courses that have been set up specifically to offer a new level of professionalism and expertise to wannabe stylists, PR professionals, boutique owners, high street retailers, fashion students and just about anyone who has a passion for fashion. Our tutors have extensive experience in all areas of image consulting, personal and fashion styling, make-up artistry and corporate training and development.

Image consultancy training across the world is renowned for being old fashioned, run by theorists, and offer very little insight into the actual making of a successful styling consultancy. This ultimately leads to a frustrated and disappointed candidate who comes out of training with little insight into a very dynamic and rewarding industry. Now with the arrival of The Image Academy, students can expect new insights into how to harness the power of social media and other novel business practices to ensure a successful career.

Shopping for a living has got to be one of the most desirable jobs out there and with the rise and rise of style reality programmes, there is no shortage of fashionistas queuing up to learn the ropes to make their mark on the fashion world! But contrary to popular belief, making a career out of being a stylist is certainly no easy feat.

Each course is given by an experienced tutor provided by The Image Academy who will provide real-life examples and experiences throughout the course notes, this practical knowledge will benefit all students throughout the 5 days. On the final day, all students will be given practical hands on experience of sourcing stores for each client based on their shape, height, size, budget and style and will also participate in make-up demonstrations.

So why should you choose to train with The Image Academy over any other styling agency:
• Our courses are tailored to give you in-depth and practical information which will be used on a daily basis and will offer you the theory that will bring you from student to fashionista in a number of days!
• The course is made up of 70 different topics and answers every question you may be faced with in the real world.
• It covers everything from getting started to colour analysis, body analysis, makeup, corporate image, working in TV and magazines to starting your own business and getting your first client.
• The course is very in-depth and can either be done in a group of ten or on one to one basis with a tutor.
• Certificates are issued to all students who have successfully completed the course.
• The benefit of our course is that you will receive a unique mentoring service and hands on experience with a professional Personal Stylist.
• We do not believe in giving you the theory to teach yourself, our tutors are there to help you every step of the way and answer any questions you may have.
• All students will have the opportunity to shadow an experienced Personal Stylist, thus knowing the format of the day and how to approach and work with clients.
