PUTTING YOUR DUCKS IN A ROW - Pre-production, Funding, Doing the right thing

In this thread you may ask and answer concerns and situations that may or have occurred. If you had a discussion with a fabric vendor and he is talking in a language you don't understand...are you factored? Is that linear or on the square? The dye lot is 500 pounds. OR maybe a technical designer. What ratio are you gonna run on the sizes? Do you know the production yield?
Or something moralistic. My friend doesn't know squat and he/she is slowing me down or wasting my money; how do I tell them to go away?
