Hi,

WebPDM is used by many larger companies to create tech packs, however, since it is a very expensive program, many companies develop their tech packs using Microsoft Excel. If you would like to learn how to use Excel to create your own tech packs and line sheets, you can check out our Microsoft Excel for the Fashion Industry ebook.

The ebook also comes with tech pack and line sheet samples.

Hope this helps!!

Oh wow thanks!

So how does the Excel version work? Do you have templates that you can edit or do you have to have the images drawn and scanned already?
THe excel tech pack is used to display garment specs along with a detailed flat sketch and any other information a factory will need to manufacture the garment. You would need to import your sketches into Excel. You can either draw your sketches by hand and scan them in, or sketch them in Illustrator or similar CAD program and then import them into your tech pack.

Hope this helps, if you have any other question about how tech packs work or about our ebooks, please email me.
