Handbag Line-How many styles to start?

There's alot of information out there for apparel lines and how many different pieces to start with but does anyone have any idea how many different styles of handbags you should show for the first collection? How many different color selections? I have many but don't want to overwhelm the customer but I also don't want to underwhelm either. Any feedback is welcomed... thanks
