Fashion Marketing / Fashion Design ?

Hi, I'm Livia.
I'm currently studying fashion marketing in Australia, the thing is, I'm thinking of transferring to Fashion Design major, as I want to work as fashion stylist/buyer/fashion show back stages later on. And also, I'm more of a practical person than to memorize things.
I'm still in the first year, and I need to know what are the differences between the two majors, apart from practical(hand works) for design and theory/brains for marketing.
I'm in a huge need of help and response :)
