Hi Everyone, I'm Martina, from Italy but at the moment I live in Sydney. I have a Diploma in Pattern Making for Women, which I got in 2001 at Polimoda, in Florence. My passion has always been fashion design, but after that I worked for 1 year for a knitwear label, Spadafora (not very well known probably), assisting at Milan Fashion week. I was the only full time pattern maker, so I had a lot of responsabilities and I learnt a lot since the beginning. Unfortunately in that year the company went bankrupt and fired 35 people. So I started to study Art theory but I never gave up my passion in fashion, doing clothes for me and my friends (including a wedding dress) and working some months for another company to pay my studies. Now I'm doing a master in Art Administration in Sydney but I would like also to start again in fashion...the thing is...after almost 10 years without experience, I need to have maybe a work experience with someone where I can learn and develop my skills, or learn new ones in design. Any suggestions? What is the right step to do? I know that companies wants a portfolio, which I don't have.... It's hard t start again, but I think I really want to....
