Paper bags come in various handles. Of  all handle types, cotton, ribbon and twisted handles are the most welcome. Here is a guide to popular paper bag handles. 

Cotton handle

Cotton handles are usually used with large laminate bags. Since cotton fibres are bound together like rope, creating a handle type which provides the same soft, up-scale feel and appearance of ribbon, but with far greater strength. Besides, cotton handles are typically quite thick, meaning they won't be as likely to dig into people's hands when used to carry heavier loads.

Ribbon handle

Ribbon is remarkably soft, making bags appear luxurious. The chic and elegant appearance of ribbon make it perfect for gift bags. However, ribbon might be a little too dainty for larger bags and heavier contents, so they're usually just ordered for use with smaller, lighter items, when the look and feel is more important than practicality.

Twisted handle

Compared with ribbon and cotton handle paper bags, twisted paper bags are more economical. Since twisted paper is machine made, yet it is still relatively strong. Twisted paper handles aren't as luxurious as cotton or ribbon, but they do possess their own natural charm.
